Your account
Other locals see your first name and last initial. Your full last name, email and the optional welcome answers (age range, gender, how you heard about us) are private to you and our team.
What you post
Shoutouts, questions and answers appear under your name once our team has reviewed them.
Check-ins and location
Only you can see where you’ve checked in. Your location is read only at the moment you check in, to make sure you’re at the business, and it’s never saved.
How you use Localites
We count searches, page views and taps to improve Localites. Businesses see totals only, never who viewed or tapped. In the app we use PostHog for analytics, which gets your account ID and email but never your name. Usage data and search history are kept for 2 years, then deleted. Some of it is stored outside Canada (in the EU and US).
Your choices
Notifications are optional. You can delete your account any time in the app: Profile → Settings → Delete my account.
